Sweet Cinnamon came from a very tough neglect situation where she was housed with way too many other dogs. By the time she came to Dakin, she was very skinny and had day old puppies with her. Despite her horrible physical condition, Cinnamon was a very loving mom and took great care of her pups. One of our amazing fosters stepped in to help and worked with our medical team to get mom and babies to a healthy weight and a happier life. Cinnamon does have some long term medical issues that our staff can discuss with you. The pups have been adopted, so now it's Cinnamon's turn to find a better life and a new home! Her foster describes her as "a very sweet dog, pretty chill most of the time" and that she "loves to be out in the woods for walks!" She walks well on a leash (until she sees a squirrel but that seems fair). Cinnamon loves massages and rubs, and is calm and friendly with all the people she's met. She is so sweet and gentle, it's amazing how lovely she is, especially given her very tragic start to life. She has been sweet and gentle with all the kids she's met too, from toddlers to teens! She is fully house trained and is calm around other dogs, although she would prefer not to live with them. Because of her rough start, Cinnamon does get protective of her food and toys around other animals (she's fine sharing with people!). She will do best as the only dog in the home. She has done well living with cats who will respect her space and leave her alone while eating, resting, or with toys.
