This sweet boy, Miko, came to us as an owner surrender. We found out he was blind but didn't know the extent. After some initial vetting, we found that he has what's called Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) autoimmune disease. In addition to that, he has bad cataracts in both eyes and is completely blind. You could tell his eyes were uncomfortable so our vet started him on two different eye drops and some steroids. After a recheck, the vet things he'll be able to reduce to one eye drop medication per day. The vet believes the VKH also turned his coat white - it could've been gray or black before. Aside from all of this, Miko is super sweet and has learned his foster home quickly. He gets along great with his foster siblings and just needs a loving, caring home to call forever.
