Adopt Shiloh a Brown/Chocolate - with White Labrador Retriever / Mixed Breed

Location:
Sedalia, CO
Description:

Colorado Foster update: Shiloh is an adventure enthusiast, delighting in the great outdoors. Whether it's darting around the yard, frolicking in the grass, or discovering the perfect stick for playtime, she's always in her element. When it comes to affection, Shiloh is a pro. Snuggling up close and peppering you with kisses is her way of showing love. And don't expect any alone time—she'll faithfully shadow your every move. Well-versed in a few commands like sit and shake, Shiloh is a quick learner and a breeze to have around. Plus, her impeccable potty training means no accidents indoors. Out on walks, Shiloh is your faithful companion, frequently glancing back for reassurance and staying right by your side. But perhaps her favorite pastime is riding shotgun in the car. At the mere mention of a trip, she's already racing to secure her spot, eager for the next adventure.Foster Notes #1- greets other dogs with loose body- briefly met resident dogs and wanted to play more with the smaller dog but was too much energy for him. She was more calm with the larger dog who didn’t pay much attention to her at all - has seen the cats and wanted to sniff the one on the kitchen table but didn’t seem overly curious especially when she hissed at her. she pretty much ignored her after that. - very friendly - my sister was easily able to take her out of the kennel and hang out with her without me there having never met her. hasn’t had an accident - prefers to do business outside - very friendly - my sister was easily able to take her out of the kennel and hang out with her without me there having never met her- will lovingly paw at you to pay attention to her but we’ve talked about how her nails hurt so working on that -gets the zoomies and will parkour off of you if you’re not watching - hasn’t had an accident - prefers to do business outside - gets a little antsy if left outside alone - likes to practically attach herself to your leg when walking - walks pretty good on leash- things with 2 wheels do startle her and cause her to bark without aggression- rides okay in the car but does prefer shotgun and we had to have a chat about not attempting to sit in my lap while driving - sleeps beside me throughout the night without issue - kennels during the day while I’m at work and she does cry a little at first but seems to settle down quickly - she’s always been sleeping when I check in on doggy cam- she can be a little jumpy sometimes but pretty happy go lucky much of the time - verrrrrry treat and food motivated - she’s skinny and wants all of the food - greets other dogs with loose body- briefly met resident dogs and wanted to play more with the smaller dog but was too much energy for him. She was more calm with the larger dog who didn’t pay much attention to her at all - has seen the cats and wanted to sniff the one on the kitchen table but didn’t seem overly curious especially when she hissed at her. she pretty much ignored her after that.Shiloh was rescued from euthanasia in Texas.Meet and greets are by appointment only. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances. More questions? Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/ Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed. A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs. Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive. From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2060278##
