LouieLouie is a 6-year old beagle who was brought to the shelter by a good Samaritan and was never reclaimed. Weighing in at only 20 pounds, this guy has a gigantic beagle personality in a small package! He is house trained, and crate trained. He gets along with other dogs, and absolutely loves being with his people.His favorite hobbies are going on sniffy walks, trying to get to any food you have or might have, napping in every sunbeam he can find, trying to take food off the counter he can't reach, getting belly scritches, trying to get in your trash can, cuddling with his people, snorting like a piggy if he thinks food is around, and just generally being an adorably sweet Beagle who wants to hang out with his family, especially if there's food involved.Louie does pull quite a bit on leash and would benefit from a basic obedience class. He is a very determined door darter and we are pretty sure that is how he became a stray. Once he is out the door, he is FAST! For this reason, we prefer that he go to a home with a door that does not go directly to the outside e.g. a double door or an inside door that opens to a garage. We also prefer that he go to a home with older kids/teenagers who know not to leave gates and doors open.When he's outside he likes to let the neighbors know he is there with little beagle howls, but he also calms down quick when you remind him to use his inside voice. He is pretty quiet when he is in the house.Louie’s adoption fee is $250.
