Licorice is an 12 year old Pomeranian mix who was found all alone in the outside world and was never claimed. He is chipped, but his former owner, while very sad, is no longer able to keep him and had given him awayyears ago. This happy guy is about 10 pounds, and would be happiest with another small dog and a cat or 2, although he would also be happy to be your special treasure. His Pomm outer coat had to be shaved off due to serious matting, so he currently looks like a short-haired teddy bear. But Licorice is a happy boy. He loves walks with my dog and me. He loves my cats, and follows me around just to “be with”. He is a quiet dog at home, with a tendency to snort while going to sleep - pretty cute. Licky Boy is not so quiet on walks—he likes to warn me and bark at outside cats & dogs. Licky has been funny with other dogs, but good with my 18 pound mix breed female dog. He does not jump on the furniture at all. He with give you sad eyes and ask to be picked up, but is not offended if you say ‘not now’. Thus happy guy is ready for a good home!Our vet was very pleased with his health for a senior guy. His legs are deformed, but she thinks they have been deformed since birth, not sore from arthritis. His heart and lungs were good, and he gets around pretty well! His teeth needed cleaned, and he will need some extractions in July, so he will not be available for adoption until his teeth are pulled. (He could be fostered -to-adopt before then.) He has only minor cataracts, even though his eyes are faded. His blood work showed no thyroid or diabetes issues. The vet says he may get his Pomm coat back, but he may not. All pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and on a flea/tick preventative. Cats are tested for FIV/FeLV and dogs are tested for heartworms.
