I adopted Ranger in the fall of 2016. I got my puppy a puppy and to this day they’re best friends. My ex was abusive, and Ranger was protective, and his breed is undyingly loyal, and this started his overly protective streak. He’s gone through extensive training with Sit Means Sit, but because of his life he’s developed severe anxiety. We have a 2 year old, and since bringing him into our family, Ranger has had a significant time not being the center of my world and coping with a rambunctious toddler that loves to run around and be unpredictable. Ranger gets along with other dogs over time, but he needs a home where he can be the center of their life. Lots of places to run and work. And a home where he can feel safe and not a home where he’s constantly on guard and in protect mode. I love him with my whole heart and this has been so difficult, but he needs me to not be selfish and give him the BEST life possible and it’s not with us anymore.
