Single Black Female searching for long term companionship with a patient, loving individual/family willing to train me in proper pet behaviors. ABOUT ME: I am a petite labradoodle approximately 2 years old and weigh about 26 pounds. I have spent all of my life until recently in a filthy 4x4 pen outside with minimal shelter. I had never been in a house, in a crate, on a leash, to a vet or a groomer until earlier this week. Now, I am fully vetted, heartworm negative and have had a lovely smelling bath. My foster mom even gave me a haircut. Even though my life has not been great, I am a gentle, loving, and trusting girl. I have found that I LOVE balls, Kongs, and toys!! I am more attention motivated than food motivated. I am super excited to meet new people and dogs. I have loved meeting and running around with my foster's 3 dogs. I have never met a cat. ABOUT YOU: You will need PATIENCE and time. You will need to be willing to work with me on potty training. My never having been in a house means I don't understand that I cannot potty there. You will need to continue working with me on leash training. I am confused by it. It feels like a trap. It was not so bad when Foster mom took me for a walk on it. You will need to continue my crate training. The crate was ok when it was open, and I could go in and out. But I wasn't a fan when the door closed me in at first. Last night though I made minimal fuss about it. FOSTER MOM: This little lady is absolutely darling, I love her already. She experienced her first car ride, first vet appointment, first bath and whole new surroundings Tuesday and was trusting enough to let me scissor cut all thee mats out of her hair. She even laid on her back so I could do her belly. The neglect she experienced has done nothing to dampen her zest for life. She is going to make someone a faithful and loving companion. She loves to run and do zoomies in my backyard. She does come up on her hind legs when she meets people sometimes as she has had zero training in appropriate behaviors. It is not a lunge or aggressive. It is more like a gentle tap and is her way of making sure that you see her.
