ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13648Hi! My name is Spade and I arrived at OPH on 5/17/24. I’m guessed to be an 5 month old Labrador Retriever mixed breed dog. I’m a sweet boy and currently weigh 34lbs.My foster family says I am a very good boy. I love affection and attention and will stay close by your side, even when I walk around the fenced yard off leash. Toys are new to me so I'm still learning to play with them but I do love other dogs. I find cats and rabbits interesting and worth a sniff, but humans can pretty easily re-direct me away from the critters and I'm not hyper-focused on them. I'm potty trained and have not had any accidents in the house or in my kennel. In fact, I'm happy in my kennel through the night and while my humans are away at work. I'm getting used to walking on a leash. My foster family says I'm a quick learner and since I love to be close to them, I don't see any reason to pull or tug at the leash while walking. I'm searching for…- Someone who won't leave me home alone for more than 4 hours, at least not until I am older. The older I am, the more I can stay home alone. I just don't want you to get mad at me if I have accidents or chew things I'm not supposed to when you leave me for too long. I'm a puppy, so I get bored quickly and when I'm bored I could get in trouble.- I am looking for my forever home, not my for right now home. So as I get bigger I need someone to teach me how to be the best dog I can be. I am young and still learning. You may want to teach me some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help me bond with you. That sounds like fun!- I saved the most important for last. I am hoping my new mom or dad will snuggle with me, play with me and love me forever and ever!Please note that because this puppy is so young, it has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that the immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, the puppy MUST stay out of public places where it could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppy’s medical safety and longevity.This puppy is microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccines and monthly preventatives.
