In December 2021, I welcomed Socks into my life, adopting her from the Humane Society in Rapid City, SD. She's a delightful mutt with a heart of gold, but her past experiences as a stray have left her with deep-seated separation anxiety. Born on May 16, 2021, she was just 7 months old when she became part of my family. Despite her struggles, Socks is a gentle soul who adores companionship. However, when left alone, her anxiety surfaces, often leading to barking and occasional accidents indoors. While she's partially house-trained, her need for constant reassurance makes her more suited to an outdoor setting where she can roam freely and feel less confined. Socks isn't aggressive in the least; she thrives on affection and gets along famously with both children and other animals. Her favorite pastimes include snuggling and lounging on the couch, enjoying every moment of love and attention she receives.
