Adopt Bird a Black - with White Australian Kelpie / Mixed dog in Indianapolis

Bird found us about 9 months ago. We think he is an Australian Kelpie, might have a little bit of something else, but looks, acts, has brains of a kelpie. He is a working dog, needs someone to give him a job. He tries to herd the cats in a line, loves to be chased, and he is very strong. Bird is also very protective of the house, no strangers are getting in. He is very loving and loves to play. He has been bred to be a working dog, and I feel so bad for him. Our lifestyle really doesn’t work for him. We both work a lot. He needs to be able to get more exercise, and it is about to get worse. We are relocating this summer and I look to have just a lot and a smaller place. When we couldn’t find his owners and a place to take him when he first came to us, we decided to give it a try, but it’s not working. We are definitely not responsible dog owners. He would be great on a farm with training! He pees when taken out and uses pad in house. Crate trained.
