My daughter Lena spotted an injured dog in the pouring rain. She took Blue to the nearest veterinary. The vet examined discovered not only a ACL injury but also signs of recent childbirth. The next day, Lena went back to the area she found Blue had been left to fend for herself despite her injuries and recent motherhood. There, they encountered a homeless woman who had been caring for Blue's nine puppies. The woman explained the dire circumstances detailing how the puppies had been left without food or shelter. Blue and the puppies are healing quickly. All have gained weight and are sleeping well. Blue is sweet, well-behaved, and shows signs of previous training. We wish we could keep all of them, but we are already blessed with two other rescue dogs, Ralph and Belle. A good home will see the tender soul that Blue and her pups are and love them accordingly.
