I first came across Gus abandoned at the Tom Slick Community Dog park when visiting with my own rescue pup. He had no collar or other identification and was left there without food or water. Local residents that happened to see me looking at him said he was a very friendly stray that they kept putting back into the dog park enclosure to keep out of their yards. When he was still there the following morning when I returned with some food and water for him, he seemed ready to follow us, so I decided to take him in. Gus has proven to be the sweetest, most loyal pup. He is extremely playful and snuggly and loves wrestling with his big foster brother. If it weren’t for my cats, which he does not understand are not toys, I would have a hard time parting with him. He has been great a dog parks except when confronted by aggressive breeds or feeling protective of his foster brother. He has had regular backyard access, so it is difficult to know if fully house broken, but he is very trainable!
