Meet Foxy (also affectionately known as the Foxinator)! Foxy is an easy going petite Sheltie gal that has been waiting a LONG time for her forever home to find her. Foxy lived on a commercial breeding farm where she was a free roaming farm dog that was used for puppies. She lived on the farm for TEN years as a moneymaker and came into rescue at 10 years old along with her 9 week old puppy. Sweet Foxy has taken a few months to fully adjust in her foster home, but now it is as if she was a house dog all her life! Foxy is housebroken, knows some commands, and LOVES snuggling on the couch with her people. When Foxy gets excited, she will do zoomies and play bow at you while she smiles from ear to ear. She even found her voice after a few weeks in her foster home and barks at her foster mom when she wants to communicate. Foxy lives in a home with 4 other large dogs and tolerates their existence. She would do best in a home without rambunctious young dogs to pester her, as she'd rather be snuggling on the couch or the bed minding her business than playing. Foxy could get behind having some kitty siblings, laid back dog siblings that will leave her be, or having no siblings at all. She's pretty chill about most things. Foxy would do best in a home with children over 13 as she is small and dainty and doesn't care for loud noises or quick movements. This old girl is used to being a free roaming farm dog, and even though you probably can teach an old dog new tricks, Foxy isn't about that leash walking life. She would prefer to have a fenced yard where she can roam freely to do her business, even though she will follow closely wherever you walk! She also doesn't mind being carried like the princess that she is. Foxy does not need to be crated whilst left alone as she is very well behaved, but doesn't mind a reprieve away from the hustle and bustle of her foster home from time to time. She even knows the command to go into her crate and she will do so enthusiastically for treats. What is the most endearing quality about Foxy? It's her snaggle tooth smile! Foxy's front teeth stick out of her mouth and whenever she smiles you can see all 4 little chompers protruding out. She is too cute! Overall, Foxy is a senior girl that is finally looking for her retirement home after a life of breeding. Upon intake, Foxy was diagnosed with a heart murmur and later saw a cardiologist. There she was diagnosed with stage B2 myxomatous mitral valve disease and a stage 4 heart murmur. She does not show any clinical signs of heart disease but it is suggested that she see a cardiologist annually. She will also need to be on medication twice daily for the rest of her life. But according to her doctors, she still has some good life left to live! Foxy is spayed, received a dental, is UTD on vaccines and preventatives and chipped.
