Boxer Dog for Adoption in Austin, Texas, 78761 USNickname: Nixon Posted Breed: Boxer. Hi! My name is Nixon! I am a handsome 3-4 year old large, fawn boxer boy! My life prior to rescue is unknown but I'm on the hunt for my forever home now! I am a pretty fun guy that enjoys walks and learning proper leash manners, mainly getting ready and the first few steps out of the house. I am dog friendly and enjoy wrestling and playing toy keep-away with the resident dog. After a nice time playing, I enjoy a long nap. I know basic commands and will retrieve a ball but get bored quickly. When inside I find dog chew bones and entertain myself with them. I have not met any children outside of the rescue Adoption Days so proper introductions would be needed. I am not a jumper and have a calm personality so my foster parents feel I would be okay with older children since my happy tail is not suitable for non-boxer savvy toddlers or smaller children. Despite having a couple initial accidents, I am house trained and will go to the door to let the humans know I need to go outside. I will go in a crate on command, but I am not comfortable being left in a crate and get nervous and will salivate while in there. At night I sleep on the floor next to the humans whether it be in their bedroom or the living room. My foster parents feel I would be great in just about any home as the only dog or with a playmate.
