Pomeranian Dog for Adoption in Bellevue, Washington, 98008 USNickname: Saffron - Darling Pomeranian Posted Breed: Pomeranian (medium coat). Meet Saffron! Sweet Saffron was rescued from a terrible breeding situation. She is safe in a foster home now and settling in well. Saffron is a cautious girl who is just learning how to be a dog. She can be timid with people initially but warms up quickly. From her foster mom: This girl loves love and identifies as a tiny emotional support cuddle bug shadow that will accompany you throughout your home. At the time of this writing, she is nestled on her foster parents lap while he 'works from home'. There is so far no such thing as too much physical affection for her and she soaks up love like a sponge. You will have a hard time finding a softer dog and she’s a pleasure to pet. There’s a little diva in her and will be initially pouty when you need to crate her. That said, she won’t fuss and has an etch-a-sketch brain. By the time you return, she's happy to see you. Saffy gets along extremely well with small and medium sized dogs. She does fine with large dogs that are gentle and calm, she may just need a day or so to warm up. She would probably do best in a house with at least one dog and gentle people. Regarding Walks: She is timid putting on a leash, but the second she gets out the door it's Saffy-the-Explorer. Friendly to people and other dogs, though she freezes up when approached too quickly. Regardless, she is a real sport about it. Considerations: 1 - She does shed a fair amount. 2 - She is debarked, so communication with her is subtle. She'll need someone who is attentive in their observations. 3 - She never grew up with routine. Time investment and structure is key. She’s done extremely well adjusting to the routine in her foster home. It's like you can be the parent that fell asleep at her school play, what's important is that you showed up, told her she had an Oscar worthy performance, and got her to home and in bed on time. 4 - While she’s getting used to you might try her hand at being an escape artist. 5 - She will need soft food as she is missing 17 teeth. In short: If you want a highly affectionate dog whereby you are the center of their universe, she will be perfect for you. If you need a more independent dog that can do their own taxes… Probably not. Saffron will be vaccinated, spayed and chipped.
