Meet our resilient young boy, rescued from Grapevine’s dog shelter. At about 1 ½ years old, this Chi-weenie pup has been through a lot but is ready to find his forever home. Buddy came from an abusive situation where he received no vaccines or treatments and contracted heartworms. Fortunately, the shelter treated him for heartworms, and he is now doing well. He is house-trained, kennel-trained, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. We have also been diligent with his heartworm preventative and flea and tick medication. Although he is hyper-vigilant around strangers or other dogs, he doesn’t bark much and loves his pork hides. He is still learning to be playful. We have only had him for six months, so we are unsure how he is around children. He might do best in a home with a single woman, though he eventually warms up to men. He and my husband have become good buds, even though he prefers me. His adoption fee is $175. We require an adoption application, vet reference, and a home visit with the pet. ALL of our pets are spayed, neutered or scheduled prior to being adopted. They are UTD on shots, heartworm negative, treated or scheduled to be treated, and micro chipped. They must be kept on heartworm preventative for the rest of their lives. Our adoption fees vary. Puppies have an increased adoption fee since they need three or four sets of shots, multiple de-wormings, and other puppy needs to keep them healthy.
