Zahara Sahara, American Pit Bull Terrier For Adoption In Marysville, Washington

Price:

Location:
Marysville, WA
Description:

Zahara’s introduction, if she was introducing herself, would definitely be “Hi, I love toys, tug-of-war, and recently was on a couch, which was awesome!” Let me tell you more about this girl and if you are more the visual type- start with her profile video where you can get to know her and see her cuteness in action! First thing I noticed when I met Zahara was her eyes, they sparkle! I don’t know if they always sparkle but they sure did for us the day we met her. I get the feeling she understands that her future is looking bright! Zahara leads with a bit of shy, calmness when in a new environment but that doesn’t last long. She may check in with her person a few times but before long she is off exploring or socializing with new friends. On-leash, Zahara shows all the making of a wonderful walking companion. She has the basics down including being at ease passing other dogs without being overly interested or reactive and little to no pull. With the companionship of her fur-ever person she will take well to gentle guidance on being a perfect walking partner! Where we really saw Zahara shine was in the home! She was showing us her goofy, playful, and affectionate side, A basket of toys, a comfy spot and a person is all she needs in this life to be happy! She was great at meeting new people, no pushiness or jumping, just a polite approach and patient wait. That is a skill most dogs take a while to master. Zahara was introduced to several dogs so we could see her playstyle and what her “type” is in other dogs. Similar to how she approaches new environments, she likes to take it slow when meeting new dogs. She doesn’t lead with excitement but after the sniffing she is happy to show her friendly side with an invitation to play, no matter the size of the dog- big or small! An ideal playmate is one who appreciates sessions of play but isn’t pushy and knows the power of long, leisurely naps. In addition to dogs, we introduced Zahara to our house cat Tom and she was perfectly curious while remaining respectful. When she got a little swat on the nose she slinked away with what sure looked like hurt feelings. Not a scratch to be seen but she heard his message and respected it, even if it did hurt his feelings. This was a moment when we could see how great she is at learning the expectations of her and suiting her self so she can keep the title of being good-company. An ideal home for Zahara is one with possibly another dog- a little playful a little lazy, who understands she will want a bit of time when she gets home to settle in. This girl is going to thrive in a home, whether that is as a family dog or as your trusty #1 pal. She has a solid base of understanding on being a “good-dog” and learning more about what you want to see from her will make her your “great-dog” in no time at all! This is how the best rescue love stories begin and rescued-dog-love is deep and true so don’t let her get away, she is ready and will cherish you for forever! If you have any questions about Zahara, the adoption process, or would like us to test her for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure she is the correct fit for you and your life! Please email XXXX@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions.
