Gumbo is deaf, which means he requires a special understanding and experience with communicating and training deaf dogs. Let us get him out for you to show off his charm. Despite his disability, Gumbo is incredibly friendly and is a playful soul who adores chasing after tennis balls during playtime. However, being confined to a kennel environment can be challenging for him, as he longs for more freedom and space to move around. While Gumbo is a sweetheart, it's important to note that he may startle easily when he's sleeping, so it's best for him to be in a home without young children who could inadvertently disturb him while at rest. If you have experience with deaf dogs and are looking to provide a loving home for a sweet and energetic companion, Gumbo might just be the perfect match for you. With the right approach and understanding, Gumbo can thrive in a loving and understanding home. So, get ready to enjoy endless games of fetch and lots of cuddles with this lovable guy.Breed is based on physical features. All shelter animals are considered to be a mixture of breeds.Adoption processAdoption fees for any one of our animals is $70.00 (this includes cost of the spay or neuter). In accordance with local laws, all animals over the age of 12 weeks will be altered prior to adoption at the local veterinary clinic. For animals under 12 weeks of age, vouchers for the surgery cost will be provided at the time of adoption.Shelter locationWe are located at 1549 East Don Tyson Parkway, Springdale, ARSunday Closed Monday - Friday 11:00 am - 6:00 pm Saturday 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Springdale Animal Services is closed on all legal holidays. We do participate in adoption events around the area from time to time.
