Animal Profile: Gobi is a 3.5 month old male Terrier mix puppy who will be joining us along with his mom, Sahara and 3 siblings from San Joaquin California. These dogs have been held in outdoor kennels at a Waste Treatment Facility in San Joaquin Valley. Temperatures are now over 100 degrees and these dogs sit and wait for help to arrive. This “shelter” has no website, no adoptions, and no resources. We were asked to help so they will be joining us on June 16th. We will share more info as we get to know them in foster care. Foster Update: After spending his life in a San Joaquin outdoor kennel, Bean (aka Gobi) is loving this new world! Although still a bit nervous, he is curious and loves exploring our house and yard. Bean is very affectionate, has a sweet disposition, and overall seems like a big floppy goofball. He is very interested in the resident dogs and playful, but is also highly focused on his people as well. Bean is spending time in his crate and generally ok with it; he does whine a little but eventually settles in. His house training is going fairly well and he gets very excited for the praise and treats, but he still has some work to be fully trained. Because he is so praise and treat motivated, I'm betting he will be fairly easy to train. We do recommend a household without very young children because he is a bit of a klutz and jumps up sometimes. Anybody would be lucky to have this sweet baby in their family Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate.
