Meet Lila! This happy 6-year-old purebred female yellow lab with a beautiful light cream colored coat has left her farm and her days as a breeding Momma behind her. Lila’s big doggie smile and wagging tail will win your heart as soon as you meet her. She’s looking for her forever home where she will bring her joyous happy warmth to brighten every day. After 6 weeks in foster care Lila has blossomed into a wonderful house pet who loves her people with bottomless affection. She is fully house trained, loves to take walks on the leash, gets along beautifully with the foster home’s resident golden retriever, and is looking for a forever home where someone is home with her most of the time so that she is seldomly on her own. She loves being near her family and thrives on affection and interaction. She will do well with other dogs or as an only dog as long as she has people around to dote on her. Cats are an unknown, but as a former farm dog, chances are good that she has hung out with feline friends in her past. She has tons of energy and strength which can sometimes find her with a case of the zoomies, so a home with toddlers might not be a great fit due to the chance that she might inadvertently knock them down. She likes men, women and kids and should be comfortable with any family set ups. A fenced yard would be nice, but not required as long as she can get her exercise on the leash. Lila can’t wait to be a permanent part of a loving home and is ready to show you how she is a perfect house pet who will love you unconditionally! Once approved to adopt, they wait to find the right dog for their family. They are required to sign a pre-adoptive agreement and keep the dog they are matched with for a 3 week pre-adoptive period. If all goes well during that period, they sign an adoption agreement and adopt the dog. The fees vary depending on the age and altered status of the dog. We do require all dogs to be altered if they are not already and require obedience training as wellShelter locationSome , but not all, of our dogs are present at events we attend throughout our coverage areas in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. For the most part, adopters do not meet a dog until they are introduced to the dog they are matched with. This introduction takes place after they have a home visit and are matched with one of our dogs and the meeting is held at a neutral location half way between the dog and the applicant.
