Hi! My name is Buddy and me and about 20 of my friends recently found ourselves about to be homeless as our owner was being evicted from her home and it was going to be demolished. A lady with a really small rescue took us all in and then reached out to several rescues to see if they could help, and me, Aaron, Adam and Axel got lucky when BCAA said they would help us... yeah! I appear to be a dachsund mix and am about 3 years old, so past all of that puppy foolishness. I am a solid little boy weighing about 18lbs and should not get any bigger. I came into foster pretty scared and confused, but my foster parents have been working with me and I am getting much better and learning to trust them. I have gotten along with the other dogs I have met and haven't paid much attention to the cats I've encountered. I've done really well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding. I've never had a leash on before but I'm learning but will need a physically fenced yard in order to take care of my business. I enjoy my food and treats which I take gently and which will help me learn to trust you. PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. June 25, 2024, 12:53 amAdoption processOur adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.Shelter locationWe have weekly adoption events at PetsMart every Saturday from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm at the Eastgate Square Shopping Center, Rt. 38, Moorestown, NJ and PetsMart, 62 Centerton Rd, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
