LEO - 2 years old, 58 pounds, house trained, good with other dogs, sweet boy, likes people, does not like body restraint/handling, no small kids.Leo came into VBACAC pretty guarded. Although he was, from the start, described as a sweet boy who likes people and other dogs, his family told us he was growling at them when they were trying to make him do things. He does not like body restraint or handling too much. Leo has been with us for several months now and with him becoming more comfortable with all of us, we are able to see how sweet and friendly he really is! Leo is 2 years old, pretty young and still pretty impressionable, especially when stuck in a shelter cage, which we think explains his cage behavior upon entering the shelter. Yep, took me a moment to open that cage door! When I did, I found a boy so ready to get back to love and attention from a family. We went to the yard, ran around a bit, and had fun! Leo has been in a lot of play groups and we are seeing he is very good with other dogs. He is more of a calm boy. He stays at the perimeter of the yard, not too close to other dogs, but will definitely greet them. He will engage with other more calm dogs. More active or rough playing dogs are too much for him. If you think he might fit perfectly in your family and you are ready for a new 4-legged family member, please come visit him! He is in the back so just ask to see him!
