Adoption Profile: Abby is a 4-year-old, 55 lb spayed female Kelpie mix who is good with both people and other dogs, large and small. She's affectionate and even tempered and has done well in doggie daycare and at off-leash parks. She loves to run and play, so a securely fenced yard where she can stretch her legs would be ideal. Foster Update: Abby is such a sweetheart! She loves being close to her people and is awesome in her crate -- including sleeping through the night there. She gets along well with other dogs, and she knows a multitude of commands, including sit, lie down, off, and leave it. Abby is also good at sitting and waiting at thresholds, although she does need her human to remind her of proper etiquette. She's very smart and eager to please.Abby has had training in leash manners and walks very well on a loose leash most of the time. If she sees a bunny or squirrel she's very interested in chasing it, but this tendency is pretty easily managed with a training collar. She will need a dog-savvy leader to keep her focused and diverted from distractions, but she's such a sensitive girl and she learns super quickly. Abby will be an awesome addition to an active family that can give her the structure and leadership she needs to be her best doggie self.
