Abu is at our shelter. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet him during open hours! I've heard humans say, "Bad things happen to good people. And, that's true for gooddogs, too. My name is Abu, and I personally know it's true. What I also know is true, isthat I am a good dog, and I want to leave my past behind and start a new chapter filledwith love and adventure. Trust is super important to me. When I trust, I am extremely loyal, and affectionate. I willfollow you around the house, and be there right by your side, waiting until it's time for usto cuddle on the couch. I also will let you know when I need to do my business outside.And speaking about being outside, I love to play in the yard, and I do well on a leashand harness during walks. As much as I love to play and carry my favorite toys in mymouth, I also like to be a slug and chill. People who know me well, call me BuBu, and know I am an all weather kind of guy. Inthe summer, I love to chase the water from the hose, and try to catch it with my mouth. Ialso love cooling off in the baby pools, and I enjoy eating ice cubes. In the winter, I canact like a snow bunny, chasing snowballs, and finding sticks in the snow. My frisky,playful side shines when I am outside! I am very talented and I know severalcommands (sit, lie down, paw), and can't wait to learn new tricks with my new family. Because it's important for us to really get to know each other, the staff at HeartlandAnimal Shelter will provide you with the best tools and knowledge to help us establishtrust with each other. I need my person to lead the way, and to fully teach me the rulesof the house. Even though I am dog friendly and enjoy playgroups at the shelter, I preferan adult-only home where I can be your one and only pet and the center of youruniverse. In return, you can tell me anything and I promise to never judge you, and willlove you forever with my entire heart and soul. Abu is a Chicago Dog so his fee is waived! This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
