Addie is up for adoption again, and will debut at our adoption event in Pateros, WA this Sunday, July 16, after a brief visit back with her original foster!!! Addie is an amazing girl, she just needs a family that can stick with training and reinforcement. She is also one dog that we will require to have a secure fenced yard, so she is not bound to a lead. Previously written by Addie's foster(we will update more soon): Addie came to us a short time ago, and the first thing we learned about her is how much she aims to please. She was born to be your best friend. At approximately 4 years old, she knows most basic commands, though some training reinforcement will indeed help (we're working on that now in foster care). She is great with other dogs, and can go from playing hard to your nap buddy in 4.7 seconds. If you're working on something or just sitting around the house, be prepared for her big head to end up in your lap while you get lost in her dark chestnut eyes. We know her as a Mastiff mix (we think the primary mix may be black Lab, as she is small for a mastiff and has multiple Lab features and attitude). She needs lots of training in order to be an off leash dog, her off leash recall is not good. She does pull some while on leash (her strength comes from the Mastiff side), it is a fairly easy correction with her, and some additional training is likely to eliminate the problem altogether. When doing any training with her, know that she is easily distracted (squirrel!) She does love to play and run within the yard, playing with balls and ropes. She LOVES chasing balls around. She is a hard chewer on toys, and would need to be supervised with any that could possibly break into small pieces. We have no knowledge of her around children, but has shown an eager happiness to meet new people, often sitting to receive first pets without being prompted to do so. She will chase cats, but has shown a desire to play with ours. So, she seems to be good with cats as long as the cat is good with dogs.
