Alfred is a handsome fella just lookin' for love. He is very affectionate and will totally melt your heart with his wiggly greeting. This guy is definitely the center of attention with his playful personality! One of the volunteers recently found out is that Alfred LOVES to be picked up. It makes that handsome boy so so happy! At just over a year old, Alfred is already so smart and knows sit. He has a bit of a sweet tooth and loves both treats and pup cups. Alfred would like to meet all the people in your home.Alfred is in FOSTER!: Here is what his foster family has to say: He is the most wonderful companion! His favorite things include: toys, cheese, cuddling, swimming, and living life to the fullest! I have no idea how he managed to spend over 130 days in the shelter without being scooped up!! Alfred is a young guy with a lot of playful energy. He does not quite understand his strength yet and would do best in a home without small children (he can knock them over when he gets too excited). He gets along with most other dogs when given the proper introduction, but he does NOT agree with intact males. Alfred is wary of humans at first. He has shown no signs of aggression; he just would rather approach you instead of the other way around. He needs time and patience to bond with new humans, but once he trusts you he will be by your side for life! Alfred is doing great with his kennel training so far and is 90% potty trained (he has had 2 random accidents at my boyfriend's apartment but none in mine). He is such a goofball, he is totally content entertaining himself with his toys, however Alfred would love someone with an active lifestyle who is willing to take him to the lake every now and then (and maybe get him a kiddy pool ??).Alfred even goes paddle boarding with his foster mom! He is also is quite the bug hunter. If you hate flies, don't worry, he'll hunt them down for you just like a ninja cat.Alfred is a very goofy, playful, and snuggly guy! He loves to play with all kinds of toys and would love a dog friend to wrestle and play with. He gets along well with my older, female dog, and responds well to her social cues. With the proper introduction, I believe he would get along well with socialized and equally playful dogs. He loves to snuggle with his favorite humans! He prefers sleeping on furniture and would love to be someone's snuggle buddy. Alfred does not know his strength, and would likely be a little too boisterous for young children. Alfred is very cautious about new humans, he does not like going to public spaces where there are lots of new people as he gets very nervous. I have seen zero signs of aggressive behavior from Alfred, but he sometimes needs to be reminded to calm down when he gets too excited about playing. Alfred seems to be potty trained and will eventually settle in his kennel when left alone. Alfred is very quiet, and only whines for a little when first put in his kennel. He sits and waits to be leashed at the door, he takes treats very gently, I have not heard him bark, he does not beg for food, he waits outside the kitchen and sits for his meals. Alfred LOVES the water and would like a home with a kiddy pool or sprinkler.
