Miss Azule got all her vaccines, heartworm test (negative), and an Rx for anxiety meds. Poor girlie has some separation and crate anxiety. Foster mom is working on this with her. She is doing much better. She is out most of the time and is well behaved. It would be so wonderful if she would find a home very soon where she would only need to be crated in an emergency situation and where her person is home a lot of the time. She does GREAT outside of the crate! She’s 100% reliably housebroken and super mellow! But, in her crate she is a sad, sad girl. And she has to have a special indestructible crate. She has been getting Trazodone and Gabapentin to help her cope in her crate during the few times that she needs to be crated. She will be starting fluoxetine (Prozac) to see if it hopefully helps. We would like to see her be able to come off of these meds once in a home of her own. Azule is 6 years young and she’s a perfect small to medium sized dog at 48 pounds. We would not recommend her for apartment living. She would do best in a home with a 5-6’ fenced yard. Azule loves to run off her energy and play. Azule LOVES everyone she meets! She loved the vet staff and gave lots of kisses even though they were poking her with needles. She loves walks, car rides and hanging out in the fenced back yard if you will stay out with her. She doesn’t like to stay out by herself very much. She has a super high prey drive for wild critters. She is also way too interested in cats, although foster can pretty easily walk her past them in the house on a leash. Foster would not trust her with them at all. She walks fine past fosters' other dogs when they are in their crates. She is said to be good with other dogs 99% of the time. But,redirects on them when she chases a squirrel or other critter and can’t catch it. In her past home she received lots of injuries from the other dog due to this and has lots of scars. I would recommend a home with no other pets. She is so lovable and kissy, that she can easily be your one and only! Her adoption fee is $200.
