Adopt Blair a Black - with Tan, Yellow or Fawn Blue Heeler / Mixed Breed

Blair is an 11-month-old spayed heeler mix. She had incredibly debilitating fear and anxiety and was literally untouchable when pulled from a small rural shelter. She has made a lot of progress but will need a patient pet parent willing to provide her with a lot of structure, activity and understanding. She is currently in a foster home on a small farm and does well with horses and donkeys. She has started to try to herd the rescue sheep but generally listens when redirected. She is also living with cats and occassionally will try to chase them if they run, but not aggressively. She has interactions with ducks and chickens and for the most part ignores them but does like to try to herd them at times. She also likes to steal their eggs She adores her dog companions (also female). She has shown no food aggression or other dog aggression and is not dominant but does play hard and is learning to respect boundaries. She is exuberant and needs someone who is willing to exercise her a lot! She might enjoy agility training. When she first came into care, she had had no socialization and had never been on a leash. She now walks well on leash and responds to basic commands (but is very easily distracted!). She is crate trained and does well at night in the crate however, if she must be in one during the day, she has a lot of anxiety and will try to escape. Even if her buddies are crated next to her. She does well in a large fenced in area but early on tried to dig out or climb out. That behavior has stopped as her anxiety has decreased and she feels more secure. She would do best in a very active/patient home with another active/secure dog and a lot of structure. She would do better with no children or older children due to her energy and anxiety.
