Meet Bonnie! She is a 1 yr old spayed female Chinese Shar-Pei mix that weighs 41lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/19 as a stray. She has such a unique appearance you can't help but stare and smile. She does pull a bit on a leash, knows the sit command and takes treats gently. She enjoys running through the shelter yard stretching her legs. She has a lot of energy and would be perfect for a family with an active lifestyle where she could be taken on walks, runs or hiking. She has so much excitement she wants to tell you all about it by jumping on you. With continued redirection she does well. She will chase a ball, but not bring it back. She has been kenneled with female and male dogs and has done well. As we walked through the bay with the other dogs barking she did not show any interest in them. However we do ask if there will be another dog in the home to please ask the shelter for a dog test. She loves to be petted and loved on too! She would make a great family companion. Please come spend some time with her.
