Bourbon and Baxter are 7 years old and were raised together since they were puppies. They were relinquished to SBR because their family could not properly care for these 2 basset boys. Both of them are overweight, but Baxter is seriously obese and was over 100 lbs. when he arrived at his foster home. Baxter recently had surgery on a large cyst on his shoulder and is recovering well. His foster mom is working hard on getting him to lose more weight. Baxter and Bourbon love carrots, peppers, broccoli and both boys love to go for walks. Bourbon is in good health and probably only needs to lose a few pounds. Baxter is kind of the ring leader when it comes to causing trouble. Neither of them are destructive and they are both housebroken but they have not had much socialization or structure in the first 7 years of their lives. Their foster parents have been working on some fear aggression with Baxter and some separation anxiety with both boys. Otherwise, they are very, sweet lovable hunks that are loving eating green beans and carrots instead of bacon! Their ideal forever home would have a fenced in yard and a family that would be home more than not with them. We would also like for them continue with their current healthy lifestyle of a good diet and plenty of exercise.
