Brownie is a big sensitive boy who came to the shelter pretty beat up and in need of some TLC. He’s all healed up now and has spent far too much time at PACC! Brownie’s injuries weren’t just physical- when he first arrived at the shelter, he was fearful, shut down, and would hardly walk on leash. Fast forward to today and we are so proud of this brave boy who has blossomed and bonded with his volunteer friends! Brownie is still a bit timid and has been described by his shelter friends as quiet and sweet. He has definitely opened up to his regular visitors, and will bond with a calm, patient person or family. He has an adorably surprised expression permanently etched on his face, and we all thing it’s so cute. Whether he’s happy, curious, bored, or baleful, he just looks slightly shocked at any given time. Here’s what a few of his best pals have said:“Brownie is continuing to progress with me and wanting my affection and attention. He gets so very excited when I go by his kennel and then when I enter to take him out. He has really blossomed since he started sharing his kennel with another dog. With me, he has a wiggly body, wags his tail, wants pets and affection and my last time out with him he even gave me my first kiss! To watch him become so much more comfortable with human contact brings so much joy to me. He is so very special and deserves only the most special home.”“Brownie has come such a long way, from a dog that would cower in a corner in fear to a dog that does a happy dance when he sees someone who might take him for a walk. He does great with loose leash walking and loves to smell all the smells. He is still a little worried about new sights and sounds while out, but is making improvements there too. Love this boy.”“Brownie came into PACC so beat up and scared. He is looking so much better now and I know he is feeling better. I have started to see him come around more and more every week. Brownie still has that very concerned look in his eyes but his body language is improving all the time. When I talk to him he seems to be more at ease now than he was. The last time I was at PACC, I went to say goodbye to him and he stood at his kennel door and I got a tail wag when I spoke to him. I had never seen him wag his tail. I was elated! This guy is going to keep getting more comfortable as he knows he is safe and loved. He is a special sweet soul and so deserving of a loving home to spend his life in.”“
