Poor Carter has had a rough time since being here at the Shelter. When he first came in, he was a very shy and nervous guy. But now he has blossomed into a friendly, loving boy. Being surrounded in metal walls and constant barking has made Carter extremely stressed, to the point of him losing 20 pounds! Carter has since been moved into a quieter space and he is slowly gaining his weight back. He also has made progress with his behavior and even potty training. We often find him cuddling with his stuffed animals on his bed. He truly is an amazing dog and would make a great family pet. We believe that Carter will do well in a home with no other animals. However, if you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Carter home.
