Meet Casino! We're not sure how Casino spent the first two years of his life, but we know he deserves the BEST home for the rest of his life. He's feeling a little shy as he adjusts to all the new sights, smells and sounds around him in the shelter, so if you meet him please allow him time to warm up! He would love a patient and gentle home to settle into, while he learns to trust. This big boy prefers to have his own space at first but once he determines you're an ok sort of person he is ALL about the affection. He leans in to pets and puts his big noggin in your lap. Casino is a fan of walks and has great leash manners! He prefers walking slow and loose on the leash. Casino has been social in play groups with other dogs at the shelter. He may look like a bruiser, but he's so gentle with human friends and playful with dog friends. If you have a soft place for Casino to land, please come and meet him today at the KC Campus for Animal Care! My ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possilbe. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, who are deteriorating in the shelter environment or who have more restrictions on homes they can go to find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived. Did you know that black dogs are often overlooked in the shelter? They are oftentimes the dogs who stay in shelter care the longest and are chosen last due to appearance. Break the stigma and adopt a black dog today. Remember, black dogs are the best dogs. Their hair doesn't show up on black clothing and their coats don't appear as dirty as they may be.
