Hello, I'm Charlie!Most rescue dogs claim to get a second chance at life, but for me, truer words have never been spoken. When the rescue pulled me from the shelter I was barely hanging on. I had lost half my fur, was covered in sores from mange, was underweight, malnourished, infected with intestinal parasites and anemic. Over the past couple of months I have been able to heal and start remembering what it is like to be a dog that is loved. Due to my prior circumstances, I am a bit behind in my obedience training. However, my foster mom and trainer tell me I am very smart and that with the proper diligence and consistency, I should have no trouble catching up. Since I am still learning proper manners, I'd do well in an active household that has experience with large dogs like me. I am a bit of a goof and very curious but respond well to corrections. I am also quite strong and full of youthful energy, but can be a bit of a klutz and may not be good around small children or small pets. I also don't seem to care much for cats for anything else but chasing. I love long walks and playing fetch in a well enclosed backyard. I also wouldn't be opposed to a doggie playmate that is around my size. In fact, I have made friends with just about every dog I have met (as long as I am not introduced while on the pesky leash). In the evenings, I enjoy curling up on the couch with my human(s) to chew on my bones and watch tv. If you are looking for a workout buddy and furry cuddler with a huge heart, I'm your dog! Charlie has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his vaccinations! Bring him home today
