What my friends at ACC say about me:I'm described as friendly, affectionate, playful, and excitable.I can be a little shy with people I don't know, but once I warm up, I become a love bug.I love to give kisses, get belly rubs, and play.I know the cues sit, come, and shake/give paw.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.A staff member writes: Cobalt blue is a sweet boy with a lot of energy. He is athletic and curious boy who loves to play with his people. He loves to play with toys and needs an outlet for his energy so he would do best with a household of active people. He is a goofy boy and you will often find him playing with toys in his kennel on his back. He loves to make a little 'nest' in his kennel with his bedding and almost tucks himself in. He is just a puppy with so much love to give and he greets everyone who walks by his large puppy eyes and a picture perfect pose. We strongly suggest adopters have prior experience with the challenges described and have an understanding of safe, lifelong management of these behaviors in a home.Dogs with Level 4 determinations will need to go to homes with experienced adopters. The behavior challenges seen at Level 4 are seen at a much greater frequency and higher intensity than the other dogs in our care. We strongly suggest adopters have prior experience with the challenges described; have the ability to provide the dog with a sufficient quality of life and with an environment in which they can succeed; and have an understanding of safe, lifelong management of these behaviors in a home. Thorough counseling with the Behavior Department is highly recommended prior to any interaction or adoption. Consultation with a force-free, reward-based trainer in a future home is also strongly advised.A volunteer writes: Cobalt Blue is just stunningly handsome. Even though he could easily rest his laurels on his good looks, he also has an amazingly sweet personality. Blue was initially brought to the care center due to his former owner's financial insecurity. He knows basic tricks like sit and give paw, and his weakness is belly rubs. He is social and active, and had lived with dogs before as well. He can occasionally be spooked by loud noises, but appreciates the comfort of his friends in those moments. He is known to play bow at other dogs through a fence, and get some awesome zoomies. Cobalt Blue has now been in and our of our care centers a few times, unfortunately not finding a forever home.
