Hello and thank you for checking out my biography. My name is Cookie and I am a 10-year-old, 15 pound Miniature Poodle. I am pretty sure that everyone likes cookies so I feel confident I'll be adopted very soon! I am beginning to understand that my life has dramatically changed for the better. I could use your support to build my enthusiasm and bring out my personality. The best times are being outside and playing in the yard with other dogs. Also I can now accept treats (yum!) from people. And I have been missing out on awesome scratches, cuddles and laps, yours would be a good fit for me! At times, I can be timid but I am also affectionate, easy to catch and will be your devoted companion.I am unable to walk on a leash at all and will need a home with another more confident dog who can help teach me to be confident. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
