Meet Mr. Dante! At any given point in time there’s always one dog in rescue who every time you think of you think to yourself - Wow.... This dog is actually the definition of the PERFECT dog. How does a dog this perfect end up in rescue. Right now this perfect dog is Dante! And the answer as to why he’s here? Well - It’s Texas. This sweet boy was ran over by a car and spent DAYS suffering in a ditch off the highway in southern Texas. Finally a good human picked him up and got him to someone who could get him the help he needed. This boy underwent multiple surgeries, he was completely repaired and rebuilt. But, his one leg wasn’t taking to it, so it had to be amputated. He was hospitalized for two months. Now that he’s fully healed he’s ready to find that perfect forever home in Colorado. This boy… is amazing. Truly a wonderful dog and I can’t find a single bad thing to say about this love. Dante is amazing with other animals. He is good with cats and kittens, he is good with grumpy chihuahuas, he is good with dogs 3x his size. Dante is really wonderful with matching other dogs energy. If they’re a big mellow guy he’s happy to just cuddle up on a bed with them and chill. If they’re a rambunctious husky he’s down to take them on AND win that tug of war game. This dude is the perfect mix of snuggle and energy. He is also great with kids both small and big. This boy is fully potty trained. He is also completely kennel trained though we’ve quickly learned he doesn’t need one. He is perfectly content laying at your feet as you watch tv or read a book. Dante loves to be close to his humans and enjoys snuggling! He loves to rest his head in your lap and spend all night in your bed! He loves his treats, and enjoys his nightly treat filled kong. Dante loves to go for walks! He walks great on his leash and is friendly with everyone he meets passing by. While he may only have 3 legs this boy isn’t letting that slow him down. He’s still down for hikes this summer and camping at the lake. We’d bet this boy will be a water dog. He’s definitely going to be an immaculate adventure partner. Dante is about 40lbs and a year old. We’re not quite sure what breeds he may be but we think Heeler and lab are a decent guess. Sweet Dante will integrate into any family flawlessly as he’s just so darn good.
