Meet Darla, an American Pit Bull mix that was brought to the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 6/22, along with her pup named I named Poppy. Darla weighs 55 pounds and is not spayed. Darla is a good mama and enjoys playing with her pup. They are kenneled together. Darla is a high-spirited, tail-wagging girl who does jump on you. However this is possibly due to getting out of their kennel to stretch their legs. Darla sits for treats and takes them gently. She is friendly and had no issue with my petting her and giving her loving attention. Due to her jumping on people, she would not be a good fit for a family with young children until she can be taught not to jump.
