COURTESY POST - THIS DOG IS NOT IN OUR RESCUEPlease note - foster families or adopters must be located in Connecticut. Diva is in urgent need of a new foster home or a forever family. A foster placement did not work out - absolutely no fault of Diva's. She is a young dog who had a lot of changes prior to going to foster - she was in boarding for a long time after she was rescued on an emergency intake. She needs time to decompress - at least 4-6 weeks - and people who will give her the time to settle in and get comfortable in her new surroundings. Diva is a mixed breed dog who loves people once she gets to know them - she is initially nervous with people she doesn't know - not aggressive. Once she gets comfortable with you (treats definitely speed up the process), she is protective her person. She will do best in a one- or two-person adult home, with people who are experienced with the breed or similar breeds. She does need to be an only pet. Diva loves walks, playing in the yard, toys, and cuddling up with you. She is a smart girl who loves to learn. She had a hard beginning of life and - now only a little over a year old - her rescue is determined her present and future will be happy and bright.
