Faith is a gorgeous Labradoodle. She is 7 and weighs 65 pounds. Faith is working on gaining faith in humans. She does love all other dogs that she has met here. She hasn't had the opportunity to meet smaller dogs yet but would do that at the meet and greet. She needs a doggy sibling to help her learn about the great big world out there and that people are safe and loving. She and her sibling(s) will need a fenced yard with a 6 foot high fence. She is a flight risk and her new family will need to be extra careful when any doors are open. She is too scared for her to live with the unpredictable joy and noise of a child so she must have an adult-only home. She is still pacing in the yards as she learns that life can be fun. Faith can walk on a leash with a little bit of patience. Exercise helps with anxiety and fears and exposure to new things will also help her adjust to all her new life experiences.Faith will need a very patient person or adult family who will allow her to adjust at her own pace while also showing her they are safe. Strategies such as gently tossing treats to her as you walk by will help her brain learn that you are safe. Dogs like Faith are 100% worth the effort needed to help her settle in and become part of the family. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
