I am an honorary Basset named Fannie Mae. I have seen quite a bit in my 10 years of life and am looking forward to settling down with a family to love me and enjoy my senior years. I came to BROOD a few months ago after I was found to be living in neglectful conditions and in a bad situation. I couldn't see a way out and thought I'd be forgotten. Now I have a sparkle in my eye and a smile on my face, knowing my future is going to be full and bright!!!!I am house-trained and crate trained. I am very calm and laid back and make a great walking buddy, with a little jog every once in a while. I love going on walks and, don't let my age fool you, am used to getting about 3-4 miles in every day! I'd love to have a home with a fenced-in yard for me to run and play in. I can be rather agile and have been known to sneak through some rather narrow areas, or a barely opened door, so the fence needs to be very secure. I love people and children but might be best in a home with kids over 10. I can be a sound sleeper and startle when suddenly woken from a deep sleep. So best for me to be around children old enough to know to let sleeping dogs lie. I am quiet and usually only bark if I see another dog, trying to get their attention. I'd be great as an apartment dog, as long as I got in some long walks. I can get into some mischief and chase after small critters. I guess there's some foxhound in my genes. I definitely have the stomach of a Basset and can counter-surf when I smell something tasty. I snuck away with a whole loaf of bread once!!! I love to just chill with my family but do enjoy playing games of keep-away with my foster dad's socks!I may not look like a traditional Basset, but I have the heart and soul of a loving faithful friend to always be by your side. I am gentle, sweet and happy all the time, with a smile fixed on my face. And maybe a little tongue out too!!!! Please don't pass me by, I am ready for my best life!!! Please contact BROOD today!!!
