#### Fred is a 2 year old Miniature Poodle who weighs 15 pounds. This guy loves to play! He especially loves to play with another Mini Poodle and an Aussie. Outside time is his favorite and he gets excited when familiar people come to pick him up to go play. He greets them at the door of his kennel run and his tail is wagging a mile a minute. He follows familiar people around and he is looking for treats. He is very food motivated. With familiar people, he will approach and accept pets. This is a small group at present but he is making progress. Fred needs more time than many to adjust to people. He needs a quiet and calm adult home with routines that he can learn. Routines help dogs learn to trust and settle in. He must have a more confident and playful dog with whom to play with, and to learn from, in his new home. They need a fenced yard with a 4 foot high fence. He has gotten along with every dog he has been in play groups with so far. This special boy needs a bit more TLC and an adopter who has experience with very fearful dogs. Handsome Fred is waiting for the right person or adult family. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
