Galileo was found tied to a post by a cable. He is still growing the hair on his neck back from where the cable was tied but should heal up just fine. He is sweet so far but frightened being in the shelter environment and is very hesitant to trust new people. He was fostered for a few weeks and warmed up to the one foster very fast, but can be a little slower with other people. He loves other dogs and would do best in a home that has another dog that can help build his confidence. He is terrified of most things at the shelter, and will really only walk on a leash from his inside kennel to go outside. His foster said he did great on a leash outside of the shelter and rode really well in the car. Galileo was crate trained during his stay in his foster home. His 2 week long foster said he was house trained, but for the fosters that had him for a week they said he was not housetrained at all. He does feel more at home while outside. Galileo is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He did test a very light positive for heartworms and has started the slow kill method of treatment. Potential adopters should speak to their veterinarian about treatment options. All adoptions are first come first serve the day of availability.
