Guess who's the number one splooter in all of Austin??! Hemi is!! Hemi (or Hemi Hoo as his friends like to call him) has the best, squishiest sploot around town. He looks exactly like a grey seal in full sploot form! Hemi can be found splooting around APA!'s campus in the play yards, underneath tables, and - his favorite place of all - in the shade of big buses and cars. Hemi was a volunteer favorite while at Austin Animal Center, and he's quickly becoming a favorite at APA! Though he came to the shelter as part of a cruelty case, Hemi is full of happiness and fun. Hemi and his siblings were found tied to poles and left out in a backyard with no food, water, or shelter. Despite being let down by people in his past, Hemi has so much love to give, and he's becoming more and more affectionate every day. He also has made several dog friends now in play groups and he's learning his social skills! Since Hemi most likely has never lived in a home before, two of his best volunteer friends took him on a weekend getaway sleepover in a home to see how he would do. And.... he did GREAT!! He was non-destructive, able to settle nicely behind a babygate, showed no separation anxiety, and he seems like he'll pick up potty training in a synch. Hemi was so playful with all the toys, and he happily entertained himself with all the enrichment goodies readily available. He seemed like he'd been waiting for a chance to experience the comforts of a home all his life! This guy is SO ready for a home and family that will treat him well and give him all the comforts he deserves.
