You have to love the big ole` smile we know and love of Labradors. Introducing Honky Tonk, a country dog at heart who loves a blended indoor/outdoor lifestyle. With the help of his foster hoomans, Tonk`s tweaking his lifestyle by eating healthier to drop pounds, getting active and getting those muscles all working well. He appreciates being present wherever his people are, quietly staying by their side. He also will thank you for non-slippery surfaces, avoiding flights of stairs, and help getting in and out of the car while he works on his fitness plan. Tonk has done well with other calm dogs his size & age and is independent enough to live without canine residents too. We have no history of interactions with cats or small dogs. Gentle kindness is high on Tonk`s needs list. Quite frankly, he`s had quite enough of being yanked around by his collar and rough handled. Respect and patience keeps Tonk on the not-so-saucy side.Tonk`s foster has commitments coming up and so we need to get Tonk placed soon in a well-suited-to-him loving home where his progress will continue. He receives his wellness care in Pflugerville through Classic Canines sponsorship, a senior dog advocacy that is helping make bridges home for senior shelter dogs. His adoption comes with full medical records. Tonk is just 8 yrs old and has already dropped several pounds as he exchanges his old lifestyle for a new one! Are you ready to help him along?
