Jessie is a sweet dog. We got her as a puppy 6.5 years ago. She developed cataracts early and they are worsening. She is 100% blind in one eye and 60% in the other. She gets around mostly fine, but we’ve noticed changes in her behavior lately that may be related to her eyesight. We have young kids at home and many others that visit regularly. Jessie seems increasingly unsettled by the chaos of our normal activity - kids running around, etc. She has growled several times when surprised by someone. She doesn't control herself well and has nipped and broken skin when trying to be a part of kid play. She is also now very aggressive with other dogs, even those that previously stayed in our home for an extended time. We love her very much but are feeling that we can trust her less and less. Our home is not a safe place for her and she may not be safe for us either. Jessie would do great with in a home with a strong routine and a fenced yard; only adults, no other pets.
