*This is a courtesy listing.* Meet JJ! 13-year-old JJ needs a new home for his golden years following the passing of his dad. He was his dad's devoted best friend, and since his death, JJ has been lovingly cared for by his dad's niece. JJ is described as a sweet and friendly boy who acts younger than his years. He enjoys playing fetch and going for walks, and gets so excited to go out in the morning that he jumps a few feet in the air! JJ is good with other dogs. His dad used to pet sit, so he is used to meeting and sharing his space with different dogs. JJ is in good health for his age, only requiring daily drops for dry eyes. He had dental cleaning and surgery to remove unhealthy teeth in 2022. JJ's caregiver shares, "I was very close with my uncle, and when we lost him, I thought I was doing the right thing by taking JJ in to my home because he was familiar with my home and family. The problem is that JJ makes three dogs, and I also have three kids, and I’m worried now that I bit off more than I can chew. My two other dogs are larger breeds and one of them is still an adolescent boxer mix who wants to play with JJ, but JJ does not like it. JJ was hurt recently when my boxer pawed him to hard, just playing. I feel bad that JJ used to be an only dog and my uncle spoiled him and gave him more attention than I have been able to give. JJ is such a great little companion, and I know there’s someone out there who would really enjoy him. Our family would prefer if he was an only dog as that is what he’s most used to, and I think prefers."
