Meet Kane! High energy and high agility, he is able to keep up with our own high energy pup like no other dog we’ve met! He and his prior family didn’t mesh well and he was recycled through a local shelter before we got him as a foster. We have not been able to recreate and of the “issues” his prior family reported.. which is pretty typical. He is eager to please and opened up in less than 24 hours. Highly intelligent and picks up on verbal commands quickly. Can give and receive rough play with bigger dogs without getting overly aggressive. He was anxious when we crated him for bed or to run errands. This has improved as he has learned that we will always come back for him. Kane has exhibited no aggressive or defensive behavior towards humans and has settled in nicely with our dog. His only bad habit so far is jumping on our back door. He still startles sometimes, but this has decreased rapidly as he is settling in at our home. Overall impression and recommendations as follows. Not recommended for first time dog owners or people seeking a fully trained dog. That being said, he is very trainable and so far has exceeded all of our expectations. His high intelligence and energy require a decent amount of mental stimulation, but if you’re looking for a great companion or friend for your energetic dog this might be your guy!
