Kayla von Karsdorf is a stunning, 2-year-old, black-and-red German Shepherd. Sleek, sweet, and smart, this darling girl is friendly and affectionate. She seems housebroken, walks well on a leash and knows her sit command. She has a real zest for life. Exploring a backyard and cookies are two of her true passions — and who can blame her? Kayla enjoys meeting similarly-sized dogs but can’t say the same for small dogs or cats (of any size). Though she mingles like a world-class socialite and is well-liked by her puppy peers at the rescue, she prefers to soak up her people’s attention. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
