Meet Koda!Koda is a 5 year old 60lb male Shepherd/Malamute mix who loves chatting with his people. He is such a sweet boy and will have all the malamute conversations with a you with a smile on his face and his best wiggle butt-tail wag. Though he has his energy spurts, he definitely prefers being a couch potato and snuggling with his people on the couch. He has all his basic commands down (sit, down, stay, kennel up and on your bed) but he definitely tends to get distracted if you don’t have treats and loses his patience so a little more work with holding his attention would be good for him. He loves walks and going for hikes, we are working on his reactiveness to other dogs (getting excited and talking/barking).He has been going great throughout the day while his foster mom is at work and has no problem being left out and about in the house for the 5-6 hours she is gone. He has never had any destructive tendencies, and treats his toys as if they are his babies carrying them all over the house and rarely chewing on them. He grew up with a sister about the same size as him and currently lives in a house with 2 other dogs. He can be a bit reactive if dogs get in his face but I think with the right family and patience he could do great with another dog. His previous home also had multiple cats, which he tends to get excited when he sees so a few days getting used to new siblings and I’m sure he will do great. He is fixed, microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines.Koda has been such a sweetheart to have around and was comfy as can be in no time.
